ADP organizes course for doctoral students: “Research Data Management and Open Data”. This course is taking place at the 10th ECPR Summer School in Methods and Techniques, from the 23rd July - 25th July, at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The course is designed for doctoral students from the field of social sciences and humanities. Topics covered during the training address critical areas related to Research Data Management for open data in the social sciences: preparing a Research Data Management (RDM) plan, licensing data and intellectual property, metadata and contextual description (documentation), ethical and legal aspects of sharing sensitive or confidential data, anonymizing research data for reuse, data archiving and long-term preservation, and data security and storage.
Teaching is delivered through a combination of presentations, exercises, discussions, and group work. Throughout the training, doctoral students will have the opportunity to work on a data management plan for their own research projects.
